State of New Jersey - Firearms Requirements
to obtain a Firearms Identification Card:
$5.00 application fee (must be at least 18 years of age)
1. Application Form: Completed in full, listing two references, references cannot be relatives. Include name, address and telephone number. The fee to be fingerprinted is $60.25. This fee is mandated which is collected by the State of New Jersey. This fee must be paid in the form of a money order, cashier's check, or certified check, made payable to: NJ Division of State Police, S.B.I. Firearms ID Card there is a $5.00 fee that can be in any form of payment to the Lower Alloways Creek Township.
2. Mental Health Form: Must be completed, must be witnessed by L.A.C. Police Department Officer at headquarters.
3. The New Jersey Firearms Identification Card: Will be issued when all forms have been returned and processed.

to obtain a permit to purchase a handgun:
$2.00 application fee (must be at least 21 years of age to purchase a handgun)
To Obtain a Duplicate Firearms Identification Card:
for lost or stolen cards, or changes of address
No fingerprinting is required if you have applied in the past through our agency (LAC Police Department). Fingerprinting will be required if we do not have any prints on file along with a $18.00 fee made payable to: NJ Division of State Police, S.B.I. for a criminal check through New Jersey State Police.
Solicitor Permits:
Door-to-door soliciting is not permitted without first obtaining a permit through the Police Department. Solicitors must fill out a registration form. The permit requires a $10.00 fee to the Lower Alloways Creek Township.
Police Reports:
Accidents reports are available 24X7. However, all other reports must be approved to be released.
Records checks must be dropped off at H.Q. and completed by the Records Coordinator.
Residents must now pay for reports, due to the changes in the State of New Jersey Access to Public Records Law.
