Welcome to Lower Alloways Creek Police

 Department's Web Site

On behalf of the men and women of the L.A.C. Police Department, it's my pleasure to welcome you to our Web Site.  Our Department is pleased to bring our site to the World Wide Web and to our residents of Lower Alloways Creek and Elsinboro Townships.

Our Department is located at 501 Locust Island Road in Hancocks Bridge, New Jersey.

Our jurisdiction includes Lower Alloways Creek and Elsinboro Townships.  Lower Alloways Creek Township consists of three small towns, Canton, Harmersville, and Hancocks Bridge with a population of about 1,900 and an area of 47.70 square miles.  Elsinboro Township includes Oakwood Beach and Tilbury with a population of about 1,200 and an area of 13.00 square miles.

Our Department strives to keep the officers qualified and fit for duty while offering our residents the best possible police services.

With the help of grants from the U.S. Department of Justice we have purchased a new in-house CAD/Record System, MDTs (mobile data computer terminals, in the patrol cars) and bullet proof vests.  These grants have improved the safety of our officers and the proficiency of our department.

We have officers who have special training in the areas of FTO (Field Training Officers), polygraph examination, hostage negotiations, aviation, explosives, scuba diving, DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education), EMT (Emergency Medical Technicians), CPR Instructor, Crime Scene Investigations (including Evidence Collection, Photography and Photo Processing), a narcotics detection canine and a canine cross trained for patrol and explosives detection.

With the implementation of this web site, we hope to provide the public with knowledge of the police department's activities and help acquaint the community with our department.

We plan to continually update our web site to better inform the community about our department and the services we offer, so please visit often.

A special thanks to Terri Smith, our Records Coordinator, for her work in creating and maintaining this web site.

It is always our pleasure to serve the residents of Lower Alloways Creek and Elsinboro Townships and we hope you will find this site interesting and helpful.
